Trump Is The Picture That Reveals America's Soul

(The Picture Of Dorian Gray is the story of a man who has his portrait drawn and makes a wish that the picture and not he would age. The wish is granted, and Dorian Gray lives for many years appearing as if he has neither aged nor been changed by his sinfulness. When at last the picture is shown to others, it reveals all the sin and corruption he has indulged in.)   I won’t go as far as to say the U.S.A was ever the shining city on the hill some imagine it was, but we did good enough P.R. that many people believed it was. So much so that the illusion existed overseas as well, even in countries we invaded. A lot of my social media fam will say the U.S. has an evil history, but that’s true of most if not all countries.   Regardless of how you personally view the U.S., the Stars and Stripes were an image that symbolized freedom to many in other countries. If you don’t believe me, try to send your memory back to when the 9/11 attacks happened. Just as most Americans felt as though th

New Year's Resolution For 2021

Some people have suggested that my bid for the presidency in 2020 may have been a little overambitious. In light of the results, there may be some truth to those suggestions. With that in mind, I am somewhat scaling back my goals for the coming year. Forsaking my political aspirations, I hereby resolve to use the year 2021 to take down Jeff Bezos and Amazon.   Oh, I know it will not be easy, especially in light of Covid-19 and people’s growing reliance on convenient, prompt, and reliable online shopping. Nevertheless, the attempt must be made.   You see, eight years ago as I was finishing up my first novel (The Amazing Morse), I contemplated shipping it around to publishers and agents in hope of getting the support of powerful forces behind me. But then I learned about self-publishing and the idea appealed to me. I wanted creative control over my own work. I did not want to compromise what I was writing or change it at the behest of those who would fail to see what I was attempt
The Traveler And The Castle   There was a traveler whose journeys caused him to walk the face of the earth. He had wandered many miles one day until he saw in the distance a mighty castle. Its walls were immense, its towers clawed at the sky. And as he approached it, a mist arose about him so that he felt there was some enchantment upon the castle. He wandered through the mist until he was so close to it that the castle again appeared to his sight. He stopped and stared at the impenetrable wall that stood on the other side of a moat, and when he heard a voice speak to him from the wall, he knew that the castle was indeed enchanted, for it was the wall itself that spoke   “WE…are the Republicans,” cried the voice. “WE guard our mighty nation against outsiders. WE stand firm against any who would attack us. We keep safe all those who belong here. We maintain the traditions that allow our kingdom to endure.”   “Indeed,” said the traveler. “I have never seen walls so impressive befo

An Introduction

Greetings. I am an author and this is my new author's page. Like almost all other writers, I know Amazon holds the key to success. Unlike many other writers, I'm not happy about that. I really have no desire to enrich Jeff Bezos. Professionally, I'm willing trying to find alternatives to giving my labor to a giant corporation just as in my personal life I try to give my money directly to farmers, workers, and small businesspeople without involving corporations. Hence this little experiment: I will be posting my new writing here. If you read it and like it, you are welcome to send a little money to me through Buy Me a Coffee. If you like it but can't afford to support me financially, feel free to share it. I'm sure Buy Me a Coffee is just another corporation taking a cut between writer and reader, but this is only a baby step to eliminate the barriers that now exist between reader and writer. I am open to suggestions.
